How do I fill the gap between tiles on the wall and a bath. The gap ranges between .25 and .75 inch

Take a look at the Fitting a Bathroom project http://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/bathroom.htm – scroll down to about half way through the project to find the bit about tiling.
You could also try using small plastic quad beading, available from double glazing companies.
