Hi, can someone lease let me know if there are restrictions on where an electrical point can be sited in relation to the position of a gas cooker. i want to move a point (which supplies the elecs to the cooker) i’ve just found behind the cupboard i’m replacing.

    Electrical work in the kitchen should be left to a Part P qualified electrician Dave. He will place the socket where you do not need to lean across the cooker to operate it and where it cannot be splashed by water. There are special zones for placement of sockets but very often a kitchen is too small to operate the recommended distances. Not being able to touch water and electrics at the same time is always a good idea.
