Down to Earth is the newly launched eco-friendly range from LG Harris.
With more than 35 million paint brushes being discarded into landfill sites every year in the UK, it’s good to see companies addressing these issues.
The paintbrush and roller handles are made from 65% cornstarch. In normal landfill conditions the handles will biodegrade over a much shorter time than Polypropylene, which is used in the manufacture of most other paint brushes.
The paint brush head is manufactured from a mix of synthetic filaments and natural bristles, formulated to be 30% biodegradable.
As the importance of sustainability increases and landfill sites are no longer a long term option, LG Harris have looked at reducing the amount of waste we produce. This includes packaging – all the packaging used in the Down to Earth range is produced from recycled or biodegradable materials, and all the materials used come from suppliers who have complete environmental accreditation.
