The deadline is approaching for British gardeners to dispose of any stocks of sodium chlorate they may use as a pest control.
Garden enthusiasts should have rid their sheds or garages of the substance by 10th May, which is the deadline set by the Pesticides Safety Directive. Products were available to purchase until 30th September 2009.
People are being urged to find out more about what they could use as an alternative for pest control by visiting their local garden centre.
