Plans for a re-organisation of DIY company B&Q have been announced following a review of its distribution.
They are planning a new £77m distribution centre in Swindon, creating 550 jobs. There will also be a new site created in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, creating another 250 jobs.
But this does mean that more than 1,000 warehouse jobs in England and Wales are at risk as B&Q are pulling out of those centres run by third-parties in Chepstow, Coventry, Runcorn and Swindon.
A company spokesperson said that the changes would improve customer service, reduce transport costs and CO2 emmissions.
