The first day at the Ideal Home Show is going well with appearances on the ‘How To’ stage by our own DIY Doctor Mike Edwards, as well as the gorgeous George Clarke and Linda Barker……….
Over the weekend DIY Doctor will be presenting our ‘How to Avoid Cowboy Builders’ seminar at 3pm on Saturday 12th and ‘How to Tile a Bathroom’ at 5pm (in association with TileTracker).
On Sunday 13th, we will be doing the ‘How to Avoid Cowboy Builders’ seminar at 12noon, followed by ‘How to Skim Plaster’ at 3pm and ‘How to Tile a Bathroom’ at 5pm.

With the Ideal Home Show now in it’s 103rd year, here are just a few fascinating facts about the history of the Show:
1) The first microwave oven was launched at the Show in 1947
2) In 1997 a rainforest was created at the Show and visitors could experience a tropical downpour every hour from the shelter of an amazing tree house
3) It took over 3000 men one week to build the first Exhibition in 1908

Well the DIY Doctor stand is set up and Mike Edwards (the DIY Doctor) has the honour of kicking off this years Ideal Home Show at 10am this morning with a presentation on ‘How to Avoid Cowboy Builders’ at the ‘How To’ Theatre.
The show is now in it’s 103rd year, and has over 600 exhibitors from all over the UK. Last year it attracted a record breaking 266,753 visitors during the 17 day event!
Highlights at the show today (apart from DIY Doctor of course!) include Aldo Zilli at 12noon at the Celebrity Chef Theatre, Linda Barker talking about Custom Chic at 2pm and 4pm at the How To theatre followed by George Clarke at 3pm and 5pm. There are also regular fashion shows throughout the day on the Ideal Woman Catwalk.
