A recent survey by B&Q shows that people are feeling more confident in tackling DIY than they were a year ago. The home improvement retailer’s survey results from last year showed that 53% of respondants were scared of DIY, whereas this year’s survey revealed a 17% rise on that figure.

This is thought to be as a result of hard economic times and people learning to improve and maintain their homes themselves to save costs. It also stated that there had been a 10% rise in demand for DIY information online. Hurray for www.diydoctor.org.uk  then!!

Don’t forget we will be adding lots of new projects to the website over the next few weeks and months, so please let us know if there is anything you think we are missing. Just email office@diydoctor.org.uk with your suggestions.

You can always get your free tickets to come to the National Homebuilding and Renovating Show at Birmingham’s NEC too, where you can come and learn from the DIY Doctor himself how to skim plaster a wall, how to tile your bathroom and very importantly if you are employing someone else to do work on your home or garden, how to avoid cowboy builders.
