George Clarke and Mike Edwards at the Ideal Home Show
The feedback we have received from the Ideal Home Show has been overwhelming with huge numbers of our Desired Outcome Building Contract being requested. It’s great to know we are helping so many people understand the best ways to avoid the cowboy builders and give them confidence to pursue their home improvements. If you would like to read more about building contracts and receive our FREE Desired Outcome Building Contract – go to our Building Contracts project and click on the link to email us.
We have also received great thanks for hosting the Ideal DIY Dad of the Year competition last Sunday with George Clarke at the How To Theatre in such a fun and entertaining way! We think Mike and George had as much fun as everyone else though!

Last Sunday at the Ideal Home Show saw the live final of the Ideal DIY Dad of the Year, hosted by DIY Doctor at the How To Theatre.
Any Dads, Step Dads, Uncles or Grandads visiting the show could enter by answering a twenty question quiz, with the three top scorers going through to the live final on stage. The three finalists - Duncan Devine, Peter King and Roy Jones, then had to show their DIY skills competing on three practical DIY tasks, firstly to test their decorating skills by ‘cutting in’ around the Ideal Home Show logo, then sawing a piece of timber with absolute precision, and finally tiling around a bath.

Ideal DIY Dad of the Year 2011
The whole event was overseen by ’DIY Doctor’ Mike Edwards, along with architect and TV presenter George Clarke. The overall winner of the competition was Peter King, pictured left with Mike and George, who now holds the title ‘Ideal DIY Dad of the Year’ for 2011!
You can read more information about the competition on the Ideal Home Show news pages.

Huge crowds are watching DIY Doctor presentations at The Ideal Home Show
DIY Doctor would like to thank the huge crowds of people who turned up at the How To Theatre yesterday to listen to our presentations on Tiling a bathroom, Avoiding Cowboy Builders and How to Skim Plaster.
Between the audience of all three shows we managed to raise a total of £468.40. A great result we think you’ll agree, and a big thanks to the presenters, Mike Edwards (DIY Doctor) and Martin Hemmingway (Tile Tracker) for sporting red noses during the presentations.
Our presentations have been getting larger and larger audiences every day as the word gets round. Many hundreds are expected for our two shows tomorrow. We show you how to skim plaster in the morning and (after the DIY Dad of the year competition) how to Tile a bathroom.
Make sure you get there early to get a seat !
