The National Homebuilding and Renovating Show opens next Thursday, so DIY Doctor HQ is starting to get packed up to hit the road to Birmingham next week.
There is still time to get online and register for two free tickets to the show which is being held at the NEC in Birmingham. All you have to do is click here or on the banner below to register – and it saves you up to £30!!!
The show is open from Thursday 29th March to Sunday 1st April and there will be so much to see and do you need to take a look at their website so you can plan your day, although obviously the most important thing is to visit us at the Tricks of the Trade stage!
We will be there for the four days giving demonstrations on ‘How to Tile a Bathroom’, ‘How to Skim Plaster a Wall’, and a definate must is finding out ‘How to Avoid Cowboy Builders’. For the timetable of these click through to their website.

Mike Edwards (The DIY Doctor) in action at the Tricks of the Trade stage at The National Home Improvement Show 2011. Hundreds of people attended the fifteen talks and demonstrations over the three days of the show, and Mike was available to answer lots of queries and questions that people had regarding their own home projects.
Mike was also able to give lots of advice to visitors on how to avoid cowboy builders when employing a contractor, including using a contract such as our ‘Desired Outcome Building Contract’, getting references and using a service such as our ‘Find a Tradesman’ to ensure your tradesman is reliable and insured. We got some great feedback from the presentations and met some great people, hopefully giving them help and advice to make them feel more skilled and confident to tackle their own home improvements and also deal with contractors.

Huge crowds are watching DIY Doctor presentations at The Ideal Home Show
DIY Doctor would like to thank the huge crowds of people who turned up at the How To Theatre yesterday to listen to our presentations on Tiling a bathroom, Avoiding Cowboy Builders and How to Skim Plaster.
Between the audience of all three shows we managed to raise a total of £468.40. A great result we think you’ll agree, and a big thanks to the presenters, Mike Edwards (DIY Doctor) and Martin Hemmingway (Tile Tracker) for sporting red noses during the presentations.
Our presentations have been getting larger and larger audiences every day as the word gets round. Many hundreds are expected for our two shows tomorrow. We show you how to skim plaster in the morning and (after the DIY Dad of the year competition) how to Tile a bathroom.
Make sure you get there early to get a seat !
