How to use The DIY Doctor Blog

If you are looking for the answer to a question you have asked, go back to your question and click on “comments” in the top right hand corner.

In order to add and post information to this blog you first have to register. Scroll down the page and click on the “register” button in the META box. In the following screen enter a Username that you would like to use and then enter a registered and valid email address for an email account that you have access to.

Once you have entered the above information click on the “Register” button.

Now that your details have been submitted you will shortly receive an email sent to your registered email address that contains your user login credentials (e.g. your username and password).

With your new account ready to go you are now free to login and start blogging!!

To login to your account visit the diydoctorblog.com home page and scroll down the right hand side of the page and click on the “Log In” button (under the META heading).

In the following screen enter your login details and click on the login button and you will then be taken to your own Dashboard screen. From this screen you are now able to create your own posts and change and update your profile information.

Now that you are logged into your account you may want to change your password to something that you will find more memorable. Click on the Profile button (located on the left hand side of the screen) and scroll down to the base of the page. Enter the new password that you would like to use in the New Password box and then re-enter it in the box below. Once you are happy click on the “Update Profile” button and your new password will now be saved.

NOTE: Make sure that you write down your new password in case you forget it!!

How to Create a Blog Post

From the Dashboard screen,  click on the “Posts” button (located towards the top left hand side of the screen) and then click on the “Add New” button.

In the following window complete all the required fields, starting with giving your blog post a title and then writing the main content in the panel below.

Then, please make sure you fill in the ‘Platinum SEO Pack’ section. This involves giving a title (an alternative to the actual blog post title you have already given), give a description of the post of up to 160 characters (again using unique text for the description, not just repeating your blog post) and then giving keywords for the post using commas to separate each one.

Lastly, make sure that you select a category/categories from the list on the right hand side of the page that relate/s to your chosen topic.

Once you have completed the above click on the “Submit for Review” button and you’re done!!

NOTE: Before your post is hosted live to the DIY Doctor Blog it first has to be moderated for quality of content. Moderation of pending posts is carried out daily so there may be a slight delay in the appearance of your blog post.
