A new standalone bathroom store has been opened in Stoke on Trent by Screwfix. The store is next to their main trade counter, but is a 3000 sq ft showroom with a full range of bathroom items, designed to help the consumer or trade shopper.
Their commercial director says “Our new showroom concept is a step change in presentation and experience which specifically responds to what our customers are telling us they want and need… The result is a unique environment that enables both audiences to shop the way they please, but that also brings them together so that tradesmen and customer can browse and specify together.”
If you are looking for a plumber or decorator for your bathroom refurb, you can get free quotes from trademen in your local area by going to our Find a Tradesman page.

For a long while DIY Doctor has been trying to combat the effects of Cowboy Builders in our industry. We have published articles on Cowboy Builders and how the country loses millions of pounds because the majority of tradespeople in this country do not have any form of insurance to protect their customers.
We have now joined forces with Quotatis who will not allow tradespeople to join their data-base without the relevant insurances. They are also thoroughly vetted and references are followed up to ensure you only receive free quotes from the best of the bunch.
I have installed a 10.5 kw electric shower using 10mm twin and earth cable put it through a RDC and a double pole isolating switsh and it was working fine, now it does not. There is power going into the shower unit because the power light is on but when you actually turn the shower on the light goes out and no water is emitted even when set to cold.
I have a ground floor flat with a combi boiler which is in working condition. Recently our hot tap on the bath is cooler than the other taps in house (basin & kitchen sink), I have tried to increase the boiler water temperature has not worked, it increases the other 2 taps but only slightly for the bath to a tepid temperature. Is there any way to fix it without the expense of a plumber. Thanks
Can anyone help with a suitable adhesive for cork tiles on a floor. I know that Evostick will do the job but I am sure there is an alternative product that is more suitable for bathrooms. I only need a small quantity to fix 10 tiles.
