It takes place at Harrogate International Centre from Friday 4th November until Sunday 6th November. DIY Doctor will be on the Tricks of the Trade stage, so drop in to one of our talks and demonstrations running over the three days and you can get help and advice from the DIY Doctor himself, Mike Edwards.

There are only a couple of weeks to go before The National Home Improvement Show at Earls Court, London.

DIY Doctor will be running the Tricks of the Trade stage again this year. The daily timetable for our presentations is:
10.00 & 14.30 How to Skim Plaster a Wall
Learn how to prepare a wall for plastering, how to mix and apply the plaster and how to get it flat and smooth. You will also learn how to mend holes in plasterboard.
11.30 & 16.00 How to Tile a Bathroom
Learn how to get tiles to fit around a toilet, basin and bath with minimum wastage and maximum effect.
13.00 How to Avoid Cowboy Builders
There is a lot of coverage in the media about cowboy builders and how they ruin lives, but there is very little advice given on how to avoid them. This presentation will give homeowners the tools and advice to make sure you never meet any!
Of course there will be loads of other features to see at the show too, including the Home Entertainment & Technology Zone, the Kitchen & Bathroom Inspiration Zone, Landscaping & Gardens, Eco Home Zone, Period Property Pavillion and Interiors Pavillion, so if you are looking for inspiration or advice on any home improvement project, this is the show for you!

The DIY Doctor Team are now back in the office after another successful weekend at the Homebuilding and Renovating Show held at Sandown Park in Surrey.
As we have found at previous events, the seminars by DIY Doctor Mike Edwards on the Tricks of the Trade stage were very well attended. Mike spent some time answering questions from the audience and signing copies of his latest book ‘Master Basic DIY’ after each of his presentations.

How to Avoid Cowboy Builders Seminar Presentation
With the National Homebuilding and Renovating Show at the NEC over for another year the DIY Doctor team has had a few minutes to reflect on the past few days and have hailed the show a great success!
Again, the team would like to thank all the visitors to the show and also the great many that attended the seminar presentations on “How to Skim Plaster” and “How to Avoid Cowboy Builders” held by DIY Doctor founder Mike Edwards at the Tricks of the Trade stage for their feedback.
In the short time since the end of the show the DIY Doctor office has received a great many requests for more information on both seminar topics, especially on avoiding cowboy builders.
