For a long while DIY Doctor has been trying to combat the effects of Cowboy Builders in our industry. We have published articles on Cowboy Builders and how the country loses millions of pounds because the majority of tradespeople in this country do not have any form of insurance to protect their customers.
We have now joined forces with Quotatis who will not allow tradespeople to join their data-base without the relevant insurances. They are also thoroughly vetted and references are followed up to ensure you only receive free quotes from the best of the bunch.
Click into any of our project pages or look at our Find a Tradesman page to be sure to beat the cowboys.

DIY Doctor are delighted to announce (and strongly endorse) a couple of products which will take the DIY Market by storm.
Anyone (and there are hundreds and thousands of you) who has worked with a dust sheet slipping and sliding around underneath your feet, not to mention tripping you up, will relish the idea of this new floor protection from protectafloor.co.uk
Simple rolls of high strength, self adhesive material are rolled out to prevent any mess whatever hitting your carpet, lino, tiled or laminate floors, while another roll will protect your walls, windows and any other surface you need to keep clean and undamaged.
We are impressed and as we say in the project on floor protection, not only should every home-owner buy a roll of this, but every tradesperson in the UK should own some.
No more plaster footprints on the carpet. No more dents in the laminate floor or the worktops. Protectafloor really does work.

I cannot stop the squeaking of the 1st floor which is a suspended floor on a fairly new house. We can hear the noise as family members walk around above us.

Utilizing technology originally developed by the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, floorheater.co.uk

Floor Heating from floorheater.co.uk
have used this basis to develop their high quality but super thin and extremely tough poly panels. These in turn feature a bonded foil coating that diffuses heat that the majority of embedded systems cannot compare to.
Due to the ease of installation (with no need to pour concrete floors that some systems require) this system is ideal for trades professionals and DIY’ers alike as 2 people can lay up to a 50 square metre surface in under a day.
