10FT Swimming pool base

I have bought a 10ft round bestway swimming pool, for my sons 7th birthday. Was going to put it on a base of railway sleepers and then decking on top, but having price this up decided that its nearly double the price of the pool! :( .

Can anyone give me any other ideas of what I could use as a stable base?

Someone said sand but don't really want the pool, keep getting sand in it.

NIKNAT,
Assuming the ground is level you don't really need anything under the pool but its probably worth using a thick tarpaulin or piece of pond liner to portect against piercing.
