2 gang 2 way problems

by harley70 » Wed Oct 29, 2008 12:01 pm

I want to put a double switch to operate to seperate lights in one room. I have two sets of wires both with a red and a black wire. How would i wire a 2 gang 2 way switch to operate these independently of each other ?

Not really sure what you are trying to do. The normal way to wire lights is to daisy chain the supply, light to light, then take only the switch wires to switch. Where two lights are worked from same switch then the two lights are linked. To separate the control would require new wires running from second light to switch and swapping the supply at first light from switch to loop.
The only way I could work out what you have is to ring out the cables and find what they do which needs a site visit and can’t really guess from what you have said what is going on.
