Hi

First some ???s,

is your phase convertor an electronic or rotory type?
is the convertor driving anything else?
If just doing this pump motor then it would be best to use a timer to switch on the convertor first then via a short time delay relay switch in the pump using a contactor.
This will allow the convertor time to come up to power/speed off load, then power the pump, without the convertor being continuously on line.

Contactor coil 230V, 3 pole device, contacts rated at 16A.
Delay-on timer such as IMO 'TDEA' or easier to source type TDMA multimode unit set on 'Form A'.

Don't know anything of your electrical ability but circuit needs drawing out as is a bit unusual.

hope this is info you are after,
