Adding a thermostat to the hot water tank

by Nozza » Sun May 04, 2008 6:18 pm

I want to put a thermostat on the hot water tank.

I also want to be able to have Central heating only, without having to heat up the hot water tank.

The boiler has a switch which allows me to have 'Hot water' or 'Hot water and Central Heating'

Is this possible?

Thanks

Yes. The boiler may have such a switch but it isn't clear if you have the necessary electrics. You'll need to fit a motorised three port valve and probaly make some adjustments to the plumbing.

I think you should get a plumber in.

This post really should be in the central heating section rather this one.

Cheers
