addtional bracing and securing of roof trusses

Post by peveril » Fri May 04, 2007 4:42 pm

We have just received a survey for a property we intend to buy. We have been advised that we need to ensure that the front roof trusses have additional bracing and that the end trusses need to be properly secured to the walls.

Can you advise if this is a DIY job or one for an expert? What exactly this involves and likely costs?

We can't give prices on line without drawings there are too many variables. If you go to our rpojects section and click into repairing structural timber you can contact the company in there (Property Repair) and get free, no obligation advice. This should be oK DIY but it depends on the type of bracing you need to the trusses.
