Advice needed: How to remove rendering?

by Lopez » Sun Aug 05, 2007 10:07 am

I have recently bought a house and it has damp problem.
The external walls of the house have been rendered about 8 years ago and they rendered it to ground level (below DPC level). I believe this is what is causing the damp problem and I want to remove the rendering to above DPC level.
How can I remove the rendering? I tried chisel and hammer and it does not work. It will damage the brickwork. I was wondering if there is any grinding machinery that I can use.
Many Thanks
Lopez :(

No tricks here Lopez, if the render is stuck well to the bricks they will get damaged no matter how you try to remove it.

Take a look at any one of our damp projects and ring the phone number for Property Repair Systems. They give free, no obligation advice and we recommend them. They will tell you what you need to do (if anything) and will also be able to supply you with anything you need to do it with but will certainly not try to sell you anything you don't need
