is this a new installation or is it old and you have only just had the problem?

if old then it sounds like your durgo is stuck shut, probably need a new one

if the durgo is i the loft try taking it off, make sure your traps have water in them, flush your toilet take a shower etc see if this solves the problem if so then buy a new durgo.

you say one smells which discharges into a hopper? what size waste pipe is on the shower and how long a run of waste pipe is there?

you may require an anti-syphon trap
