alternatives to using putty between wood and glass

Postby handsell » Tue May 06, 2008 8:22 pm

Can anyone help? I would like to find an alternative to using putty around the [external] windows of my house. These are oldish windows where a gap has developed in some areas between the glass and painted woodwork.
Could I not use caulk and then paint?

What's wrong with proper putty?

OK I'm old fashioned - use glazing compound.
