Bath hot water runs out??

by montyd890 » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:34 pm

Please can someone help me. I recently moved house and my new house is great apart from a small problem. Every time i run a bath, the hot water runs out!! It isn't the boiler or tank because the other hot tap, in the basin runs hot water fine, as does the downstairs sink. The cold water feed is fine in the whole of the house. I think it might be some sort of air lock, but not really sure. Any suggestions on how to rectify this problem would be appreciated. Thanks again.

Hi Monty,
this will depend on afew things are you running your cylinder out of water filling your bath, and then trying the other outlets,or are you waiting for a while after your bath has run,the other thing is how long are you running the other outlets this may be a case of the hot water may just be working to them then your'e turning them off?

check tank, ball valve and cold supply. if the hot water is draining from the tank faster than the cold water is filling it - this will cause the water to stop flowing
