Bathroom fan installation

by Andy1978 » Fri Mar 11, 2011 8:07 pm

Hi,

Can someone advise me if its ok to supply a bathroom fan in Zone 1 from a FCU which is from a ring main protected by a 30mA RCD?
The FCU would be in the loft!

Thanks

Andy

For fans inside these area's should be 12V safety extra low voltage (SELV) . You can also use an in-line duct fan for this purpose, which tends to be the quieter alternative. There should also be some form of local isolation for the fan.
Naturally, all works in this type of area should be installed by a qualified person that can provide certification.
