by Scottjenkins » Wed Feb 11, 2009 9:07 am

Hi im a newby to this so please be patient

Ive got a Baxi solo 2 40pf, the problem is when i trys to turn on, the fan keeps cutting in and out continuously?
Overheat - off
Boiler on - on
Fan - on/off every 1-2 seconds
Pilot - off
Burner - off

previous to this when it was working it used to start clicking once it shut down for about 2 mins, it would start fast until it slowed down to a stop.

Any help much appreciated
Scott

Hi Scot,

My gut feeling is the fan is on its way out. Try some wd40 on it to test.
If it works a little better - for a short time = new fan required.

Sounds like PCB fault - but obviously cannot say for sure without seeing the boiler, maybe time to get an RGI ?
