Best Way to Attach Outside Wooden Steps for Back Door

by Houdini1976 » Wed Nov 25, 2015 11:34 pm

I am in the process of building some outdoor wooden steps for my back door. Not sure the best way to fix the stringers to the wall below the back door. Would I need to fix a ledger board to the wall and then screw the stringers to that ? Many thanks for your help in advance

Thats one way for sure and most likely the easiest and neatest way. Alternatively you could fix the top of each string to the wall using angle brackets. The first method would be stronger and safer however.
