Black Metal Pipe Found When Laying new Sewer Pipe

Post by DMac » Sun Mar 19, 2017 9:21 am

I'm laying a new sewer pipe into my inspection chamber but I've come across an old black metal pipe about 1" diameter. We had work done 5 years ago and they laid a new gas pipe so I'm 100% sure it is not my current gas pipe. What else could it be? How do I check? Can I cut it with a metal electric saw? Thanks. DMac

I wouldn't cut it, I have found the new gas main threaded into the old metal pipe sometimes
