    blemishes after water coat

    Postby armytouch » Sun Jan 20, 2008 12:09 am

hi,having problems with rough blemishes when plaster drys, how i plaster.
    step1-ensure surface clean,remove loose debris.
    step2-apply pva to surface.
    step3-first coat.
step4-apply second coat when first coat starting to go off, usually after about 15-20 mins.
    step5-smooth out second coat.
step6-apply water coat, find painting water over plaster when it going off again after about 20mins covers some of the small recesses.
step7-wet trowel off ecess water starting from top corners down, then top of wall down then side to side.
step8-fill over small bleamishes with watered plaster off trowel.
step 9-leave for about 20 mins and dry trowel off.
Problem i am finding is when the plaster drys there are small, rough blemishes dotted around wall.
    what am i doing wrong?
    thanks

    hi armytouch,
are the blemishes like patches with small dimples like the surface of a golfball? if so it could be because you arent applying enough pressure.
do you have ample lighting when you are skimming if not this could be the reason you arent seeing them earlier.
