Blocking external door with PVC panel and window?

Hi,

I am after advice and guidence. I need to "brick-up" an external door and put a window in the top half. I cannot build and tie in a new wall to the lower section.

I have seen on various houses what appear to be fitted pvc panels used to reduce the size under large floor to ceiling windows.

Do they do these for door openings and if so, what are they specifically called? Does anyone have any experience of fitting them for external doors.
