BLOCKING UP AN OLD FIREPLACE

Post by busterboo » Thu Oct 01, 2009 9:43 am

Can somebody help me please. I am a female and don't want to be taken for a ride by the builder - he says that I don't need an airbrick in the fireplace which is to be bricked up and that he can just drill half a dozen holes through the brickwork/plasterwork and put a plastic vent over the top and this is good enough. Is it wiser to have a proper airbrick or would that be sufficient. Any help gratefully received - thank you. :?
