boiler problem

by jakeyseven » Sun Nov 29, 2009 12:30 pm

hello i have a ferolli combi. its a great boiler . i have not had heating on for a while, but the other day when i turned the nob for heating , nothing happened. the radiator symbol was flashing which means its on standby. the hot water supply is fine . i looked through the manual trying to see what the problem was but no luck, so in frustration i banged the boiler as i did this the heating came on . so everytime i need heat i have to bang the boiler what would be happening as i want to resolve the problem . is it a loose conection or what please help

Look for any brown/burnt joints on it or better still get a heating eng to sort it RGI of course.
