by fiona gooda » Wed May 09, 2007 11:30 am

I have fo create a concree base for a bonfire and bbq site. It is approx 1m in diameter and will be 4 bricks high.
Do not know the best mix to use for the base (ratios)
and should I get special bricks and mortar mix because of the intense heat
Please help - the last bricky failed so want to attempt it myself! :?:

See our mixing concrete project Fiona, 6 to 1 is ok for the base. Engineering bricks are great for BBQs your local builders merchants can help here and ideally a lime mortar mix although most BBQs are built using a standard 5 to 1 sand/cement mix.
