Bottom of dishwasher filling up with water

Hi - I'm after some advise. Recently the bottom of our dishwasher is filling up with water when the tap or the washing machine is used. When we put the dishwasher on the water drains as normal but after the tap is run water appears again.

Any ideas?

The solenoid inlet valve is failing - fit a new one.

Fit a non-return valve to the waste pipe - probably the easier/cheaper option - compared to stoneyboy's - if everything else on the dishwasher is working fine.
