Brass lamp fitting

I have a brass lamp fitting with connection marked + and - Which one is for the live and which one is for the neutral wires? Thanks.

unusual to be so marked but
+=L
-=N
must also be earthed as metal.

For B22d does not really matter as Sparkx says normally Line = + and Neutral = - but for Edison screw centre is Line and screw is negative.
And as he also says needs an earth.
