Broken Mixer Tap with no Access - How do I Repair?

Post by Jimmy1967 » Mon Jul 07, 2014 3:00 pm

Hi, the divergent valve (I think that's what it's called) has just broken on my bath mixer tap but when I tried to fix it, I cant see any way to remove the tap.

The bath is tiled in and I was wondering if it were possible to remove the tap without smashing tiles!??!

Is this something that an amateur can do or do I need a plumber?
Here's a picture of the type of tap..
Many thanks

Hi Jimmy1967

What exactly is broken? A repair can be made without having to access under the bath. But, if the tap has to be replaced, the only way is going to cause some damage, whether by yourself or by a plumber.
