Building near to an existing water meter and water supply

by bigmack » Sun Apr 25, 2010 1:26 pm

I am considering building a single storey extension to the rear of my house but have an issue of having a water supply pipe and water meter close to the location where I would like to build. Does anyone know waht the regulations are on how close you can build?

Also as Isupsect I will need to move them both does any one have any idea of cost?

For info. the supply pipe would be within 250mm of the building and the length of pipe that would need moving/diverting is approx. 5m.

Hi,
Providing the foundations of the new building are below the level of the water pipe then no pressure would be imposed it by the weight of the building so there should be no problem.
