Building Regs for Aerial Satellite and Digital Cable

Post by ab&lb » Sun Sep 05, 2010 9:26 pm

Are there any building regs for Aerial Satellite and Digital Cable for an extension? I cant see anything in PartP except for the height of boxes. My ring main is running in the safe zone 150mm down from the wall plate but i am finding it hard to plan where to run Aerial Satellite and Digital Cable and dont want it to be close the ring/lighting circuits..can they be run below a screed floor level pinned to the wall behind cable capping?

Data cabling falls under non notifiable work and can be undertaken by the DIYer. You could run the cable behind the skirting pinned to the wall or chase into the wall vertically. Perhaps run it externally and in through the wall at the point you want? I dont believe there are any rules, as cutting through it would be an inconvenience rather than life threatening! You could perhaps run it in plastic conduit
