Can anyone tell me what the size regulations for roof or Ceiling joists should be? I want to convert my loft space into a dormer room and I’m already stuck. (With the math that is) I want to know whether I can bolt joists to the existing ones to strengthen them or replace them altogether. The house is a Victorian maisonette and I need to keep costs to a minimum.
