Camry 5 external boiler

by lochs16 » Wed Nov 09, 2011 11:07 am

Your help would be appreciated.
Lately my Camry 5 external boiler has started to be very sluggish to start.
THE HOT WATER DOES NOT SEEM TO A ISSUE AS IT SEEMS TO DO WHAT IT IS TOLD.
But central heating is where I have the problem. it is very slow in getting the message to start and takes a good while thinking about it. This morning 2 minutes other times longer, much longer. Depends whether it has been on or not. At night heat house, then feel house getting cold, lift temp on thermostat may encourage it to start again. Boiler has just been serviced did not sort problem. service man came back did not find anything on his part. Though silly man when it did not start removed burner put on path and then the damn thing started up, lucky man. But shows the delay that can occur.
Thermostat, turn it down it stops, increase it gets warmer. When running.
On boiler the controls have been pencilled marked and set to same mark for 4 years...lochs16

lochs16,
From your description it would indicate that there is a faulty connection to the boiler. Get an electrician to check that when your thermostat or controller are calling for heat that the boiler is getting electricity.
If the boiler is getting electricity then the fan motor should be checked to see if it is running freely when cold.
