Can I put a tumble dryer under stairs with fuse board?

Post by catdavis » Fri Nov 16, 2012 8:57 pm

Hi,

Does anyone know if it is safe to put a condensor tumble dryer in an under stairs cupboard which also houses the fuse board?

There is sufficient room & I will put a vent in the door to help with condensation but it will be sited under the fuse board.

Thanks

The likelihood is it would be okay, as long as the water tray is emptied regularly. However it is an expensive risk, if a seal goes or something goes wrong and alot of moisture gets into the mains board it may - at worst - require replacing. They are relatively cheap but it's the inconvenience of having no electric and the time/labour costs of having it replaced/repaired. I would find an alternative location.
