can volt free room stats work motorised valves?

    Postby gav78 » Fri Dec 10, 2010 9:10 pm

hi there, i have replaced a vokera combi with a ferroli DOMIcondens f. the system has 2 zones, upstairs and downstairs working from indipendent room stats and motorised valves. the new boiler needs to have volt free room stats. will these work the motorised valves? also will the existing wiring do? thanks.

The room thermostats should be controlling the motorised valves and the micro switches in the valves controlling the boiler. Worth having an registered engineer have a look to check the wiring over.

Without changing anything else it only requires a 230v relay fitting at the boiler end of the existing 'Call for heat' signal wire & Neutral.
Using the Common & Normally open contact terminals connected to the boilers 'volt free' stat. terminals.

Any competent electrician should be able to do this.
