    Carpet cleaning...

    Postby Adwer » Fri Sep 18, 2009 11:11 am

You can steam clean your carpet with little or no cleaners provided you pretreat any stains before you start. Shampoos and foam cleaners tend to leave a residue which in turn will attract dirt again. Good luck.

Has anyone had to try to get candle wax out of carpet? Will a regular carpet cleaning service be able to do it?

One of the function rooms at work has dark blue carpet, and blotches of white candle wax EVERYWHERE!!!

Put a sheet or two of kitchen roll over a patch of wax, and iron it. This will melt the wax, and the kitchen roll should soak it up. You might have to do it a few times depending on the extent of the spillage.

I have done it before with good results.

If its plain white you can just bleach the stain out. Just use chlorine bleach. If your afraid to use bleach you can use oxy clean or chlorox 2. Oxy clean removed wine stains of my dad's shirt without damaging the color or texture at all. This will only work if your "jumper" is made out of a fabric though, hope this helps.
