Carpet thats been stuck down with an adhesive

Post by paul1300 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 11:17 am

Hello
I am trying to get a carpet up thats been stuck down, in our kitchen and dining room, but it's a complete nightmare ,it looks like it's been stuck down with some adhesive and the only way I can get it up is with a scraper , it's stuck down really good but it's going to take an eternity to get it all up
any suggestions

Best suggestion I can offer is continue with the scraper and lots of elbow grease.

What sort of scraper are you using? Is it one of these?

Try warming the adhesive with a hot air gun first. If its a complete nightmare then perhaps you should consider, having got the carpet up, levelling the floor with SLC.

I wouldn't recommend a chenical adhesive remover. Nasty stuff - fumes and all that.

HTH

Cheers
