Carpeting and Laying Board over Concrete Floor

by darrenbeech » Mon Aug 22, 2016 11:03 am

Our lounge has a concrete floor (nice and dry) there are some channels for central heating pipework that I can't move. I was thinking of putting timber sheeting over the concrete, over the channels, with some of them moveable so I can access the pipework if I needed to. Then wanted to put underlay and carpet over the timber.
What timber sheeting should I use? Didn't want to go too thick, so was thinking of 12mm plywood or 11mm OSB. Any pitfalls in either of them?

Thanks,

Darren.

I would chose a good quality underlay instead, the ply would have to be glued down to stop it moving and creaking,
