Cavity wall and loft insulation query

Postby Sarah Pedler » Wed Dec 26, 2012 7:20 pm

I have recently had cavity wall insulation and loft insulation fitted. When i came to get xmas tree out of my loft i noticed that it was very damp and i think there may be more condensation on windows, but as we have had such a lot of rain in South West i am unsure if this is adding to problem.

Please can anyone offer any advice? I am really concerned about the damp in my loft, this has never been like this before. Should i remove the loft insulation?

    Thanks

you must make sure the insulation is clear from the edges of the attic allowing airflow into the loft.
Soffit vents may need installing if the problems re occur

    Thanks Welsh Brickie

I will check that the insulation is not blocking the edges adn take it from there. This was my first plan so i'm hoping that this will solve the problem. Also, thanks for letting me know about the soffit vents, this is helpful.
