Ceiling Fan/Light

by meuer » Tue Sep 04, 2007 5:22 pm

Hello everyone.. Wonder if anyone can help. I had to fix the fan in the bedroom. When i loosened the fan mount it fell but i did catch it.. the trouble is this.. Im not sure on the reconnection of the wires.. So here's what I have...... From the ceiling i have a red wire & a black wire & the usual earth.. On the fan/light unit i have the following.... 2 separate cables... first cable has one black & one brown wire. The second cable has one blue wire & one earth cable. The fan/light unit has two pull switches, one to turn on & off the light & the other operates the fan (3 speeds)

Help please.. where do the wires go???
Thanks in advance

Hi most likely set up is brn. is live for light , blue is common Neutral, blk is live for fan. As you don't have seperate switched supplies for each try connecting : blue to ceiling blk, brn& blk for light/fan to ceiling red, E - E.
