in the process of changing a ceiling light fitting the bulb blew and now the new light doesn't work and neither will the original. all other lights on same floor work. any suggestions why the light wont work.

How ever you wire a 230volt fitting it should not blow a bulb so are you sure it is correct voltage? There is a wiring diagram on Projects which is better than a 1000 words look there first. If you need help remember to list how many cables and what colours are in each one. Including sleeves if fitted.

the clours on the fitting and from the mains are the same. yellow/ green, brown and blue. what i cant figure out is why it continues to not work
