ceiling rose connecting nightmare

Hi guys!yesterday i called electrician to put up a new light fitting to the ceiling on the hallway,which is i previosly took the cables off from the ceiling rose without marking what was going wher,after a lot of attempt of me i failed to connect it myself,couldn't get some lights working,Well it took the electrician about 3 hours to find the right cables to connect it,finally the lights seemed to be working ok,he charged me £30 for that,but today when i turned switchs on, the upstairs landing lights didnt work,after while when i tried again it worked,then gone off again,now there is no any action upstairs landing lights,i have a double switch at hallway downstairs and single switch upstair landing,you could be able turn on/off the lights accordingly from downstairs and upstairs,could anyone please help me,thanks.
