by kamrul.islam1 » Wed Feb 23, 2011 8:15 am

My old C/Heating thermostat ( Satchwell , Cannot read the model no)
require replacement to a new one. I bought a new one " Drayton RTS1"
from my local shop.
The old Satchwell cables are RED, BLACK, GREY( GREEN) & a bare
earth copper wire. Please could you help me where these cables will
go in the new Drayton stat.

kamrul.islam1,
Sorry the colours are meaningless - it depends how they have been connected into the system. Find someone with a test meter who can identify them.

I would assume ur red is live, black is netural, bare is earth, and grey/green is ur demand wire, shouldn't be to hard as just need to connect demand wire, look at the back of ur new t/stat.
