CHANGING A LOOP SYSTEM TO IKEA LIGHTS WITH NO EARTH

Hi,

Thanks to this forum I have fitted all of the lights in my house, except for my bedrrom lights. I went to Ikea yesterday and bought a funky spots. All was well until I opened the packaging....

The new ceiling fitting has only got space for a LIVE and a NEUTRAL wire. I am not worried about the loop wires as I can connect them in a seperate connector block, however I am at a loss about the EARTH wire...what or where should I connect the EARTH to?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,connect to spare connector block as long as lights have double insulated 'box-in-box' symbol ie class 11 fittings .
