Changing tiles over underfloor heating?

by gemimabell » Sat Feb 21, 2009 12:23 pm

Hi,

I am considering getting underfloor heating installed on my bathroom floor and laying new floor tiles. However, if i decide to change the bathroom floor tiles, in a couple of years time, is it possible to lift the tiles and lay new tiles over the underfloor heating without damaging the underfloor heating system? Or would i need to install new underfloor heating?

Thanks,
Gemma

You haven't said what type of heating you intend to use, but if it is electrical wire type, which is covered in the floor adhesive, it will be destroyed when the tiles are removed.
